Small Cap Strategy Co provides independent equity research focused on the most overlooked corner of the public markets: nano-, micro-, and small-cap companies that receive little to no analyst coverage. These are businesses where information is scarce, mispricing is common, and the work of understanding a company properly is rewarded — precisely because so few investors are willing to do it.
Sometimes portfolio managers ask us to look into a company they're interested in buying. Other times we look for it ourselves and then sell the report to buyside funds.
Our approach is fundamental and value-driven. We start from the business itself: the durability of its earnings power, the quality and incentives of management, the strength of the balance sheet, and what the company is actually worth relative to where it trades. From there we assess the situation as an investor would — identifying where a company sits in its discovery cycle, whether insiders are buying alongside outside shareholders, and how float, liquidity, and the existing shareholder base shape the opportunity. The goal is to separate genuinely undervalued companies from those that are cheap for a reason.
Besides GARP-type investments, I also do the following type of research:
-Special Situations (turnarounds, merger arbitrage, spin-offs, recapitalizations, banruptcies)
-Collecting primary data (company visits, talking with suppliers/customers, etc.)
